Nymph, nymph, what are your beads?

This week in English we have begun our work on a poem called Overhead on the Saltmarsh. On Monday, Mrs Warren and Mr Garwood showed us some shiny, green jewels and asked us what we thought they could be- it turns out that they were the treasure of a nymph! In the poem the goblin demands that the nymph hands over her treasure to him, but she is defiant and refuses to do so.

Our learning objective was to read a poem aloud, showing understanding through performance. When we recited the words of the poem to our audience, we had to change the speed and volume of our voices to create suspense. We also had to use facial and body expressions to show when different characters were speaking. Here are some videos of our performances:
